Project Description

The Hollywood Florida Community Redevelopment Agency Plan identified redevelopment objectives which include: promoting redevelopment and eliminating the causes of physical and economic blight, ensuring sanitary and safe conditions through infrastructure improvements, improving the circulation for pedestrians, bicyclists and motorists, upgrading existing public recreation facilities and expanding recreation opportunities.

The goal is to enrich the visual and functional quality of the streetscape for all user groups, preserve and maintain natural resources. The City of Hollywood/CRA identified the Hollywood Boulevard Streetscape as a project that will enrich the visual and functional quality of the Hollywood Boulevard area in the Downtown.

Location and Boundary

Hollywood Boulevard from Young Circle to 21st Avenue, including 19th and 20th Avenues between Harrison and Tyler Streets.

Both the north and south sides of Hollywood Blvd. will be closed between 19th and Young Circle beginning October 30th for construction. The intersection at 19th and Hollywood Blvd. will remain open for traffic. The parking lot on the northside of Hollywood Blvd. which exits on to the northside of Hollywood Blvd. will be detoured out to Young Circle

WEEK OF 11/27/2023

  • Installation of trees on the north side of H.W. Blvd.
  • Pouring valley gutter and D curbs
  • Pouring concrete for bollards, tree pits, and circular curbs
  • Subgrading sidewalk and pouring flowable fill

The north and south sides of Hollywood Blvd. between 19th and Young Circle will remain closed until they are completed.

WEEK OF 12/4/2023

  • Demolition of sidewalk and roadway
  • Pouring valley gutter and D curb islands
  • Subgrading sidewalk to prep for flowable fill
  • Rough in irrgation and electrical
  • Forming/pouring tree pits and circular bands
  • Installation of bollards
  • Finish installation of trees in the center medians and tree pits on north and south sides.

WEEK OF 12/11/2023

  • Pouring concrete for bollards, tree pits, and circular curbs
  • Subgrading sidewalk and pouring flowable fill
  • Begin paver installation on the northside of Hollywood Blvd.
  • Subgrading roadway/begin prepping parallel parking areas.

The north and south sides of Hollywood Blvd. between 19th and Young Circle will remain closed until they are completed.
