Project Description

The Hollywood Florida Community Redevelopment Agency Plan identified redevelopment objectives which include: promoting redevelopment and eliminating the causes of physical and economic blight, ensuring sanitary and safe conditions through infrastructure improvements, improving the circulation for pedestrians, bicyclists and motorists, upgrading existing public recreation facilities and expanding recreation opportunities.

The goal is to enrich the visual and functional quality of the streetscape for all user groups, preserve and maintain natural resources. The City of Hollywood/CRA identified the Hollywood Boulevard Streetscape as a project that will enrich the visual and functional quality of the Hollywood Boulevard area in the Downtown.

Location and Boundary

Hollywood Boulevard from Young Circle to 21st Avenue, including 19th and 20th Avenues between Harrison and Tyler Streets.

ROAD CLOSURE UPDATES – 4/19/2024:

  • Hollywood Blvd. from 20th Avenue to 19th Avenue to remain closed.
  • N. 20th Avenue will be opened on Saturday at noon (4/20/2024) for northbound traffic. We'll close it again on Monday (4/22/2024) to continue work. 
  • N. 20th Avenue will be open by 5/3/2024.
  • The southside of the 19th Avenue intersection will be closed on 5/6/2024 for construction until completion. 
  • Hollywood Blvd. between 19th Avenue and 20th Avenue will be completed and opened to traffic on 5/17/2024.
  • Installation of storm drainage structures between 21st Avenue and 20th Avenue will begin 4/29/2024. Parking stalls will be impacted, but the road will remain open. We will patch the parking areas back so the car show can take place as scheduled. 

Close southside of Hollywood Blvd. between 21st and 20th on 5/20/2024 for construction. This closure will be in place for 12 weeks.
